Farewell to "Aylin's Woolgatherer"
If there are some in the area who have not yet heard, "Aylin's Woolgatherer,"
the fantastic northern Virginia yarn shop that became a Washington-area institution
known for its wide selection of yarns and friendly service to all fiber artists,
closed its doors yesterday, May 31, after 41+ years in business.
Coincidentally, the store opened the very same month I got married!
Aylin's became like a second home to me, as the venue for my local classes over the past 17 years.
More than that though, over those years I was fortunate to get to know owner Aylin Bener and we formed a warm friendship.
The good news is, that part won't change.
Classes Continue - New Location
As a practical consequence, we have lost our classroom, so there is some adjustment to be made,
but both Aylin and I will continue to teach knitting and crochet,
and we DO have a new location for our Washington-area classes!

I look forward to seeing you.
It was great fun teaching two classes in the Big Apple for a wonderful group of crocheters
of the Crochet Guild of New York City on March 5.
