CGOA logoFor anyone interested in crochet, I highly recommend the web site of the Crochet Guild of America, www.crochet.org. It is a terrific organization, and the award-winning Web site has learn-to-crochet instructions, links to free patterns, a list of special events, and other information that's a great resource for anyone working in fiber arts. Annual and regional conferences offer knitting and crocheting classes plus a marketplace.

William Schmidt, www.turn-of-the-century.com, makes the "between-size" 13.5 mm crochet hook that I use for my "Carnival Poncho" pattern, among others.  He also offers a whole range of beautiful hooks in other sizes.

For yarns, patterns, and supplies in the Washington DC area, Aylin's Woolgatherer, 7245 Arlington Blvd. in Falls Church, Virginia, has a marvelous selection. Phone (703) 573-1900. Those of you outside the area can order by phone or from the website at www.Aylins-wool.com. (Sign up for the newsletter, too.)
